Frode F. Jacobsen, a trained social anthropologist with a background in health studies, has performed fieldwork in Northern Sudan, Indonesia, Jordan, Bolivia, the US, Canada, Great Britain and Norway within the field of medical anthropology. He has been working comparatively for several years on organization of older people’s care and on age-friendly physical and social environments across Europe and North America. He works as a Professor at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Professor II at VID Specialized University, Norway, and as Research Director of the Center for Care Research – Western Norway. He received his PhD in anthropology from University of Bergen, Norway, in 1997.
