William Byrd
Will is a Research Assistant within the Care Policy and Evaluaction Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His work has primarily been centred around the Social Care COVID Recovery & Resilience project, with a focus on understanding what interventions have been studied in long-term care during the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2022, he was awarded a NIHR SSCR Career Development Award to focus on developing his qualitative skills and knowledge of financial analysis, and drafting a PhD application.
Will completed an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, and an MSc in Climate Change: Environment, Science and Policy at King’s College London. His postgraduate dissertation focused on ‘The Intersection of Financialisation and Resilience in UK Water Utility Companies’. Related to these studies and his current work at CPEC, Will’s interests lie in models of ownership, resilience, the relationship between knowledge and practice, and unionisation within the long-term care sector.
