Diane Bunn
I am an academic nurse, and an Associate Professor of Nursing Research at the University of East Anglia (UK) where I have both teaching and research responsibilities. In my teaching role, I teach on professional programmes at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, focusing on research methodologies (evidence synthesis, quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods) and hydration care. I aim to provide a research-based approach in all my teaching, by relating clinical care to an underpinning research evidence-base. I am supervisor for a number of MSc Dissertation students and PhD students. My particular research interests are investigating ways of improving hydration and nutritional care for older people living in residential care, effects of the COVID-19 pandemic for those living and working in care homes, and I have a long history of collaborative working with residents, their families and staff working in, and with, care homes.
I am a peer reviewer for a number of journals and grant-awarding bodies and a member of three national forums relating to hydration care and care homes research.

Research interests | My particular research interests are investigating ways of improving hydration and nutritional care for older people living in residential care, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic for those living and working in care homes. I am experienced in managing research projects, using a range of methodologies: systematic reviewing, quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods. A key component of my research approach is collaborative working with care home staff. |
