The Université Catholique de Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium) is recruiting one post-doctoral researcher to work on the funded research project BE-WELL “Care, Buffering Effects and WELL-being at the time of the pandemic and after”. Focusing on Europe, the project analyses the impact of the pandemic on well-being, caregiving, and social ties from an intersectional and life-course perspective. BE-WELL is a collaborative project funded by the Belgian Science Policy (BELSPO) and led by Professor Ester Rizzi (PI). The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to present research at international conferences and publish articles in top peer-reviewed journals in demography, sociology, health sciences and related disciplines. She/he will also prepare policy briefs and discuss them at stakeholder meetings.
Candidate Profile:
PhD in Demography, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Social Science, Statistics, Health Science;
Interest in family dynamics, well-being, and the pandemic;
Advanced skills in quantitative methods and longitudinal analysis;
Excellent knowledge of R or Stata;
Experience working with SHARE and EU-SILC will be good;
Excellent command of English and strong writing;
Some knowledge of French will be good but not required;
Ability to work both independently and as part of a scientific team;
Good communication skills with stakeholders.
What the Université Catholique de Louvain Program will offer:
30-month contract starting from March 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter;
Postdoctoral fellowship of approximately €3000 per month (+/- €100 depending on experience);
