Sayendri is a trained sociologist with B.A. (Hons.), M.A., M.Phil & PhD in Sociology. Her research dwells in the interdisciplinary areas of cultural gerontology, medical anthropology, sociology of care, temporality, lifecourse, death studies, and public policy. She has been an International Visiting Scholar to the University of Sheffield and currently empaneled as an Associate (remote) in the Centre for Care housed within the University of Sheffield. She has presented her research work in prestigious conferences notably DAKAM (Turkey); BISR-LSHTM, TU-Dresden, Germany; University of Sheffield, Critical: NNMHR Congress 2023; CDAS, University of Bath, CSSR, GMU and EASA-AGENET. In the past, she has been an International Visiting Scholar (2021) to the Department of Sociological Studies, University of Sheffield, UK.

She has a proven track record in research design; grant writing; expertise in evidence-driven, qualitative data including ethnography, narrative research, content analysis, case study, and focus group discussion. She collaborates beyond disciplinary precincts with social anthropologists, medical humanities scholars, organizational studies professionals, healthcare professionals, geographers, and economists. Aside research, she has 4 years of teaching experience both at the undergraduate and post-graduate level geared towards hands-on, field-site learning, Socratic method and seminars.
