Stefan Brown

I am  senior lecturer and a registered social worker. As the subject head for Social Work at Royal Holloway, University of London, I lead the executive development and delivery of social work education and research in the Department of Law and Criminology. I have over seven years of experience as a Senior Lecturer, teaching and mentoring students across various social work courses and the social sciences.

I am also a Fellow of Advance HE, an award that recognizes my excellence and innovation in teaching and learning support in higher education. My PhD and research focus on mental capacity decision making in dementia work, a topic that I am passionate about and that has implications for social work practice and policy. I have published a book chapter and several articles on this and other related issues, such as mental health, marginalised groups, and equality diversity and involvement in higher education. I aim to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice in social work and to inspire the next generation of social workers
