Ruth Bartlett
I am a Professor in Applied Dementia Research at the School of Health Sciences, University of Southampton. I am the national lead for the National Institute of Health and Care Research Applied Research Collaborations (ARC) Dementia Post-Doctoral Training Scheme, known as DEM-COMM. I have a degree in Politics and Masters in Cultural Politics from the University of East Anglia and PhD in Sociology from Oxford Brookes University. I am a Registered Nurse (mental health).

| Research interests | My research and pedagogical interests are on the intersections between disability studies, sociology, qualitative research paradigms and methods, mental health, ageing, and nursing. I specialize in dementia care and citizenship, and have been instrumental in bringing a citizenship lens to the field of dementia studies.
