Outi has experience of working as a registered nurse and nursing manager in care homes for older people, as well as working as a supervisory authority focusing on guidance and supervision of long-term care services. She has also examined older people nursing and long-term care in her research work. Currently, she works as a university lecturer at the University of Eastern Finland.
