Gong Chen

Chen Gong is the director of the Institute of Population Research at Peking University, the director of the Center for Research on Aging and Development at Peking University, a professor at Peking University, a doctoral supervisor, a member of the Economic and Management Division of Peking University, and the vice chairperson of the Social Science Degree Committee and a member of the Social Work Professional Committee. He is a specially-appointed young scholar of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education and the chief expert of the National Social Science Fund Major Project “Building a Chinese Characteristic Pension System”. He is also the director of the Volunteer and Public Welfare Branch of the China Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics, the director of the Disability Population and Statistics Professional Committee of the National Research Society for the Development of Persons with Disabilities, the director of the Theoretical Research Base of the Policy Research Center of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, a member of the Beijing Expert Committee on Aging Work, and a member of the Population Aging Guidance Committee of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU). He is the chief editor of the journal “Population and Development”, the deputy chief editor of the journal “Research on Persons with Disabilities”, and a member of the council of the Oxford University edited journal “Journal of Population Ageing”.
