Zhenyu Wang
Zhenyu Wang is a PhD candidate at the School of Government, Sun Yat-sen University. She is currently a joint PhD student and Associate Researcher at the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC), London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a visiting student at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing. Her research focuses on social welfare, health policy, and social care for older people and ageing.
Over the past five years, she has published more than 20 academic papers as first or corresponding author in journals such as Applied Research in Quality of Life, Health Communication, Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, SSM – Population Health, International Journal of Integrated Care, Journal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare, and Social Security Studies. She has also co-authored three academic books and contributed to five major national and provincial-level research projects.
She currently serves on the Health Economics Theory and Policy Committee of the Chinese Society of Health Economics and the Health Law Committee of the Guangdong Primary Health Association. She has presented at several leading academic conferences, including the EGPA Annual Conference (University of Glasgow), the SPA–EASP Joint Conference (University of York), and the Lien Development Conference 2022 (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore). She has received several honours, including the National Scholarship and the President’s Scholarship.
Her doctoral research explores the care needs and later-life arrangements of older adults from one-child families, as well as patterns of intergenerational support and interaction within these families.
