The 7th Transforming Care Conference will be held on June 25–27th, 2025, at the University of Helsinki, Finland with the theme of ‘Social and Human Rights in Care’. One of the thematic panels is on the topic of children’s role as unpaid carers, young carers and children as next of kin, considering social consequences from human and social rights perspectives.

Papers could address the rights of children and adolescents involved in unpaid care work, gender and intersectional perspective on children’s and young people’s role in unpaid care, the experiences of adults and children that are recipients of children’s care work and other topics.
