The organisers of the 8th Transforming Care Conference have announced that the Call for Sessions is now open for the conference, which will take place in Taipei, Taiwan, from 28–30 June 2027.Following the success of the 7th conference in Helsinki in 2025, with 400 participants from 36 countries, this conference series continues it’s mission to investigate the ways in which care for children, frail older people, and adults with disabilities is being transformed in policy and practice across various nations and local areas. The conference brings together care researchers from the social sciences who study care issues from a variety of perspectives and in different geographical regions.
The 2027 conference is organised by the Transforming Care Network and the Taiwan Society for Care Research. Its theme is ‘Global Challenges and Local Innovations in Care’. The Call for Sessions is now open for the 2027 conference, with a deadline of 15 September 2026. As with previous Transforming Care Conferences, proposals are invited for Symposia (proposing a particular theme, up to four named paper authors, and one or two discussants) and Thematic Panels (proposing and coordinating a broader theme, which will later be opened to paper proposals).
