Recruitment is a critical issue for most care sectors internationally, but stemming the loss of highly experienced workers through successful retention strategies must equally be a priority. The presenters today will identify key factors that are critical for retention of staff and outline their findings with regards to the differences in retention factors that should be considered for workers of different age groups. The Kings Fund have undertaken work to understand the opportunities and challenges for young people’s participation in the health and care workforce in England. The ARIIA team are synthesising evidence to inform the aged care sector to improve retention in an older workforce in Australia.
