Amelia Swift
Amelia is an experienced award winning nurse educator. Her clinical interests centre of pain management, especially in difficult to manage conditions such as leg ulcers and fibromyalgia. Her PhD explored neurotransmission of osteoarthritis pain and was triggered by a desire to understand why some people do not experience good pain relief following arthroplasty.
Amelia teaches pain, research and quality improvement and also supports the development of clinical academic careers for nurses, midwives and AHPs in clinical practice.

| Research interests | Amelia’s research interests are pain management and education, including the cross-over between the two. She supervises research projects at undergraduate and post-graduate level and has an eclectic range of publications due to concentration on the work her students are undertaking. |
