Andrea Escobar is an incoming MPP student at the Harvard Kennedy School (Class of 2028), where she is a Fulbright grantee researching the financing and sustainability of long-term care systems in aging, middle-income economies. She previously served as speechwriter in the Chilean Executive Office of the President, where she led messaging for major social protection policies, including pension reform and the Chile Cuida law. Earlier, she worked as a data analyst at Chile’s National Service for the Elderly during COVID-19, where she supported pandemic response and helped build the country’s national registry of long-term care facilities.

Her research interests center on mixed financing mechanisms for care systems and the formalization of care sector employment, with a focus on boosting female labor participation and advancing working conditions.
