Aneesh Mazumder

Aneesh is a Senior at Harvard College, studying Neuroscience and Government. As a Yun Family Research Fellow for Revolutionary Thinking, he is currently conducting research on neurodegenerative diseases at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where he is working to understand the mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease and develop innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for the condition. Additionally, as a Roberts Family Fellow and as part of the MESH Incubator AI team at Mass General Brigham, he is exploring the implementation of artificial intelligence-based technologies, such as large language models, across various domains of the clinical workflow. Aneesh is also the co-founder of HealthPath Horizons, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to pre-health resources and mentorship for students from underserved communities. Outside of research and entrepreneurship, he serves as a policy advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association, promoting more equitable healthcare. In the future, he aspires to be a physician-innovator, bridging clinical care, research, and technology to improve patient outcomes.

Research interests

My research interests focus on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia from the molecular level to the systems that shape care. I am interested in how computational biology, causal inference, and large language models can help identify disease mechanisms, uncover therapeutic targets, and support earlier diagnosis. I also care about how these tools can be used responsibly in real clinical settings, especially for longitudinal monitoring, care planning, and communication between patients, caregivers, and clinicians. At the same time, I see dementia as a policy challenge, because better science only matters if people can access diagnosis, treatment, and support. My goal is to connect research, technology, and health policy so that advances in Alzheimer’s and dementia care reach patients earlier, more equitably, and with clearer accountability.
