Cornelia Schneider
Dr Cornelia Schneider (Head of Institute) studied Software Engineering for Medicine at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg and Health Sciences at UMIT in Hall in Tirol. She also completed the FWF PhD programme GIScience for Geoinformatics at the University of Salzburg. She has several years of professional experience as a technical project manager, software architect and developer of information systems for the clinical and ambulatory sector.
Cornelia Schneider worked for nine years at Salzburg Research as a research assistant and head of the competence field e-Health and Ambient Assisted Living (AAL). She has several years of project management experience in national and international projects (including Care about Care, CONFIDENCE, ZentrAAL, CareInMovement and fit4AAL). In 2014, the CONFIDENCE project, which she led, won the European AAL Award (jury and audience award). In October 2012, she was honoured as FEMtech Expert of the Month.
Since February 2019, Cornelia Schneider is head of the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt and since 2021 head of the European project Care about Care (C^C for short). She won the tecnet – accent Innovation Award in 2021 with the AAL project AgeWell.
