Gloria’s current research focuses on the care economy which seeks to advance and inform policy action to develop transformative early child care and long term care systems and economies that build on existing values and strengths; enhance care quality and reward, recognize and redistribute the extensive unpaid care work provided by women within households, families, and communities. Gloria’s research which spans over 20 years focuses largely on resource-poor settings such as informal settlements of urban areas and marginalized populations to understand the interplay of context and wellbeing across the life course.
