Jacqueline Damant

With a background in psychiatric and geriatric nursing, I began my research career investigating the quality of life of older people in the digital age. After being awarded a PhD in Social policy from the LSE, I turned my attention to topics involving the quality of life of older people living in residential care settings including personalisation of care, access to – and generation of – community services and role of digital technologies in care homes.

Research interests

My research interests are the digital society and digital inclusion of older people the impact of these on access to health and social care services.
I am also interested in social capital of older people, societal perceptions of ageing, frailty and dependency and how these impact the role of residential care in ageing societies.
