I am an Associate Professor in Palliative and End of Life Care in the School of Health Sciences, University of Southampton, UK who has worked in health and care research for more than 25 years. I am a social scientist with a degree and PhD in Sociology from the University of Portsmouth and a MA in Women’s Studies from the University of Kent.  I am a mixed methods researcher whose research focuses on domestic abuse and long-term/life-life-limiting illness and abuse and harms in communal care settings and works with people with lived experience, health and social care professionals, care providers and specialist domestic abuse organisations, policymakers and commissioners to co-produce interventions  and approaches to improve the safety, dignity, autonomy and wellbeing of adults with complex health and social care needs who experience abuse and harmful behaviours. I am an implementation scientist and was the co-implementation lead in NIHR Applied Collaboration Wessex.
