Miriam Hurtado Monarres

With over six years of experience in research and social work, she is a dedicated and versatile Research Assistant at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences. She holds a Master of Social Work from the same faculty and is currently pursuing a Doctor’s Degree in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies of Humanities and Social Sciences, with a focus on Sociology.

She excels in qualitative analysis, communication, teamwork, and language skills, as evidenced by her involvement in several research projects on topics such as ageing, dementia, public space, and social work theory and practice. She is fluent in Slovenian, English, and Spanish.

Research interests

My research interests are transitions into different types of care, quality of life of informal caregivers and care receivers, long-term care policy, care poverty, ageing in place, technology in long-term care, and discrimination of informal carers.
