Monica Perracini
Associate Professor at the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Physical Therapy at City of São Paulo University and a Research Fellow in Gerontology at the University of Campinas in São Paulo. She has been working as a physiotherapist in caring for older people for more than twenty years in Brazil. The British Council sponsored her to attend a Short Course in Public Health Implications of Aging at the London School in the early nineties, and from that time on, she has been leading many studies regarding falls and fractures, frailty, balance, and mobility problems in older people.
She is the leader of a research network investigating trajectories of life-space mobility in older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic (Remobilize) and a co-leader in a network studying fall prevention and implementation strategies (PrevQuedas Brazil). She is a consultant for the Ageing and Health Unit at WHO on Long-term Care.
She is on the board of the Fragility Fracture Network Global and is engaged with the regionalization process of FFN in Latin America.
