Reiko Arami

Reiko Arami is a Professor at Graduate School of Law, Nagoya University and a visiting fellow at CPEC of LSE. She received her Ph.D. in political science from the University of Tokyo in 2013. She previously served as an Associate Professor at Nagoya University (2014-2021) and was a Visiting Associate Professor at MIT (2016-2018). Her earlier roles include Research Associate at the University of Tokyo’s Institute of Social Science.

She specializes in Public Administration and Public Policy focusing on social policy, with a particular emphasis on the behaviors of front line workers in care policies, such as LTC and childcare, and the resultant feedback effects on the welfare state. Her research covers topics such as coordination in community-based integrated care, community inclusive society policies,  child welfare and education administration, disaster management, and public health.
