Salomé Martín

Medical doctor specialised in Geriatrics, with a master in bioethics. I coordinate the quality system and working group on ethics of the Spanish Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology (SEGG). I conduct training and coordination for a network of bioethics groups in the health and social care sector. I have been working on the health and social care sector for over 25 years.

I am particularly interested in the ethics of care, social protection systems for older people, ageism, loneliness and end of life care.

Research interests

I have participated in studies about loneliness, quality of life and gender. I am also interested in stigma (and dementia specific stigma), innovative care systems, the development of community-based care, shared decision-making and care planning.
