Tesfahun Eshetie
Tesfahun Eshetie (BPharm, MScClinPharm, PhD) is a Research Fellow at the Registry of Senior Australians (ROSA), South Australia Health and medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) and Caring Futures Institute, Flinders University. He is also an adjunct Research Fellow at Adelaide University. He received his PhD in Pharmacy from University of South Australia (now Adelaide University), followed by a Geriatric Pharmacotherapy Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Plein Centre for Geriatric Pharmacy Research, University of Washington, USA. His technical expertise includes applying complex and advance statistical models to analyse large population-based datasets, including national aged care datasets, Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), and state-based hospitalisation datasets. In his current role at ROSA/SAHMRI, he led work on aged care and pharmacoepidemiology, focusing on measurement and evaluation of quality and safety of care in the aged care setting. This includes developing risk profiling tools for quality and safety outcomes.
