Theodore Vontetsianos

Dr. Theodore Vontetsianos, MD, PhD  is Consultant Pulmonary Physician, Founder  of the e-Health Unit at “Sotiria” Hospital of Athens since 1999 and Coordinator of the Greek Network on AHA since 2015  (www.eiponaha.gr). He graduated the Medical School of Athens University and received his PhD degree from the same University in 1985. He has been specialized in Pulmonary Medicine in Greece and sub-specialized in rehabilitation and chronic care management in USA, University of Colorado Health Science Center (1986-88). He is extensively experienced clinician, serving in the forefront line of clinical practice for more than 35 years. His research work has been  focused the last 25 years on the area of chronic patients’ management and digital health applications, having participated in, designed, and led several national and international R&D projects with clinical orientation. He has been awarded by Greek Government for his contribution in the introduction of ICTs in the clinical practice in 1990, as well as by EC for the innovative digital services to vulnerable populations  in 2008. Since 2018 he has been collaborating with the Municipality of Athens, as the Athens EIP on AHA Reference Site, for the implementation of Integrated care services to long-Covid and chronic multi morbid patients (https://iatreia.cityofathens.gr/programma-frontizo/)
