Unai Latorre Erezuma
PhD Unai Latorre Erezuma is a physiotherapist and researcher in the field of Health Sciences, with a specialization in physiology, human movement, and occupational health.
His scientific work focuses on the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly in occupational and caregiving contexts, as well as on movement analysis, physical workload, and the application of technologies such as exoskeletons and supervised exercise programs. He has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications in international journals addressing low back pain, therapeutic exercise, functional assessment, and ergonomics, including experimental studies and clinical trials involving healthcare and eldercare workers.
In addition to his academic activity, he collaborates in innovation initiatives within the field of care and community health, linked to Home Care Lab (Grupo SSI), where he contributes to the development and evaluation of solutions aimed at improving caregivers’ health and the quality of home care services.
His professional trajectory combines applied research, knowledge transfer, and the design of intervention programs, with a strong focus on improving the wellbeing of vulnerable populations and working conditions in the socio-healthcare sector.

| Research interests | His research interests focus on the intersection of musculoskeletal health, occupational health, and applied biomechanics, with a particular emphasis on preventing and managing low back pain and work-related disorders in caregiving and healthcare professionals. He is especially interested in the analysis of physical workload, movement patterns, and ergonomics, as well as in the development and evaluation of intervention strategies such as supervised exercise programs and technology-assisted solutions, including exoskeletons and biopsychosocial rehabilitation approaches. His work also explores innovative care models and community-based interventions aimed at improving functional capacity, reducing frailty, and enhancing quality of life among older adults and their caregivers. |
