Vanessa is the Research & Community Impact Team Lead at iLA.
iLA is an Australian not-for-profit with national reach, with a wide range of digital-first programs funded by the Australian Federal Government focused on promoting people’s independence across disability, health and aged care sectors. This includes LiveUp, KeepAble, ATChat, NowNext, AI/AR/VR innovation projects, as well as Single Assessment System service delivery.
Vanessa is experienced in community-development communications and research across government and not for profit community health – on topics such as aged care, mental health, cancer screening prevention and treatment. Vanessa is passionate about working with unique communities to rethink and improve mainstream programs, and to return the benefits to these communities.
Vanessa was awarded the Assistive Technology Service Award 2024 by the Australian Rehabilitation & Assistive Technology Association (ARATA).
Vanessa is a Qualified Professional Researcher with The Research Society and Accredited Ally through Evolve Communities. Her academic work focused on addressing community disruption from digitisation by utilising these technologies to preserve cultures and traditions. She received the Dean’s Honours List Award for her Masters.
Vanessa holds a Masters in Global Communications (Research); Post Graduate Certificate in Evaluation and Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications/Global Politics).
