Vasileios Sakalis

Mr Vasileios I. Sakalis, MSc, PhD, FEBU, FRCS, is a Consultant Urologist based at Hippokrateion Hospital in Thessaloniki, Greece. He graduated in 2002 and subsequently completed his urology training in Greece. He undertook advanced fellowships in the United Kingdom: in andrology and reconstructive urology at St George’s NHS Trust, London (2013), and in neurourology and reconstruction at Salisbury NHS Trust (2015), where he later served as a Consultant Urologist until 2017.

Dr. Sakalis holds a Master’s degree in Medical Informatics and a PhD in Urology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) and the European Board of Urology (FEBU).

He actively contributes to the field of urology through his roles as a member of the Male LUTS Panel and the Methods Committee of the European Urology Guidelines Office. He also serves as the EAU’s alternate representative to the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

His clinical and research interests include neurogenic voiding dysfunction, lower urinary tract reconstruction, urinary incontinence, male lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), and urethral reconstruction.

Mr Sakalis is the co-founder of ISUReH (Innovative Surgery and Urology Research Hub), an initiative dedicated to advancing clinical care and fostering research in the fields of surgery and urology.
