I’m Will Dean. I am an expert through experience. My mother lives with young onset Alzheimer’s disease, she was diagnosed at age 49. I was 16 and my sister was 19. My sister is her primary carer and I am care support. My background is in digital marketing and video production, Initially I did fundraisers for dementia research charities, running marathons and other endurance challenges to spark conversations about dementia.
I am a youth lead at Lorenzo’s House, a global virtual peer support group for sons and daughters of a parent living with or lived with young onset dementia. To connect, support and empower advocacy.
I have also changed careers and am currently a digital marketing manager at Race Against Dementia.

My research interests focus on young carers and their unique needs, often overlooked and underrepresented.
Also the communication of research, shifting the narrative and subsequently policy
