Xiaoyue Hu is a doctoral researcher in social work at the University of Eastern Finland. Her work sits at the intersection of implementation science and community- and home-based care for older adults, with a particular interest in dementia care and in how AI and digital technologies can be put to use in everyday practice. Her doctoral research asks why evidence-based support for older people and their family caregivers so often stalls on the way from research to routine service delivery, and what conditions help it take hold.

Before moving to Finland, she completed an MSW at Fudan University and an LLB at East China University of Political Science and Law, and worked on dementia-friendly community and healthy-ageing projects with the Fudan–Harvard Collaborative Medical Anthropology Research Center. Her work has appeared in Applied Research in Quality of Life, among other journals, and she has presented at conferences in Finland and China.

She is also the founder of Ageing Innovation Lab, a Chinese-language platform that brings international ageing and dementia research, including Finland’s FINGER study, to frontline practitioners. Her doctoral work is supported by the China Scholarship Council.
