GOLTC Unmet need, inequalities and care poverty (UNICAP) Interest Group webinar
Many disabled and older people worldwide go without their care needs being adequately met and there are deep inequalities in who has their care needs met and how. This has implications for policy, practice and the individuals themselves. Inadequate meeting of care needs, and the solutions, stem from a combination of individual and structural factors, with concepts such as care poverty endeavouring to capture both. This first webinar of the UNICAP Interest Group explores two aspects of care poverty: unmet need and source of care in Finland and socio-economic differences in care poverty in Slovenia. As well, based on the conclusions of the Care Poverty and Unmet Needs book, the webinar will discuss future directions in research on care poverty and unmet needs, from areas of research to methods and measurement issues. During the webinar, there will also be an opportunity to express ideas and interests regarding potential further activities of the Interest Group.
