“They’re Not Clapping Now: How Do We Fix the Social Care Workforce Crisis?”
This event is hosted by NICHE-Leeds, a partnership focused on improving the quality of care, life, and work in care homes, with a strong portfolio of social care workforce research.
Location: University of Leeds (United Kingdom)
Date: 20 November 2024
Time: 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Workforce shortages are currently the biggest challenge facing social care in the UK. With unsustainable financial pressures, a vacancy rate of 131,000 (8.3%), and an additional 540,000 posts needed by 2040, urgent solutions are required.
In July, Skills for Care launched its Social Care Workforce Strategy, a national fifteen-year plan centered on three core themes: attracting and retaining staff, training, and transformation. This interactive event will explore how to build on best practices and collaborate to develop innovative solutions.
