Carers play an indispensable role in our society, providing essential support to those in need. However, many who provide care do not identify as carers, and as a result, they remain “hidden” from the very support systems designed to assist them. Even those who do recognise their role often struggle to navigate the complex landscape of available resources, and may find that existing support options don’t fully meet their needs. In this Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC) webinar, we will explore the critical steps necessary to create tailored, effective support for carers. We’ll discuss the challenges of identifying hidden carers, the barriers they face in accessing meaningful support, and the importance of flexibility in services, including within the context of technological solutions. Join us as we explore what research is illustrating about how to can better recognise, engage, and support carers in a way that truly meets their diverse and evolving needs. Whether you’re a researcher, policymaker, service provider, or carer yourself, this webinar offers valuable insights into crafting more responsive and effective care systems.
