The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities sets out the rights to independent living and community participation and state’s obligations to ensure such. The CRPD, takes a disabling environment approach to disability. In this webinar, we examined the effectiveness of the social protection programmes for older persons living with a disability in South Africa and Kenya. The webinar presented latest research in this area as well as highlighting the challenges in rolling out social protection programmes for older persons living with a disability.
