How do we balance safety and clinical indicators, patient-reported outcome measures and narratives? This session explores how indicators and narrative approaches can be used to monitor, compare, and improve the quality of long-term care. It aims to foster international learning and reflection on these methods and to learn how they can be used by supervisory bodies and care teams for transparency and to drive quality improvement (QI).
The webinar will cover:
- Introduction to the Global Observatory of Long-Term care (Adelina Comas-Herrera, Care Policy and Evaluation Centre, LSE, UK)
- Introduction to the Quality Improvement in Long-Term Care Interest Group (Prof. Henk Nies, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam)
- Presentation: The use and nature of clinical and safety indicators in long-term care (Dr. Mircha Poldrugovac, Amsterdam University, National Institute of Public Health of Slovenia)
- Presentation: The use of narratives to monitor and improve quality in long-term care (Prof. Anne Margriet Pot, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Dutch Health Care Inspectorate )
